Will this keep my WiFi and cameras on during load shedding?
Yes, if they are 12V devices. This Mini DC UPS takes over when the power cuts so your router, WiFi, and CCTV can stay on. It is not made for 9V or 15V/24V PoE devices.
How long does it last?
Around 8 hours or more on a standard 12V router. Lighter routers can last closer to 9–11 hours. Cameras and higher-draw devices will run for less. Runtime depends on what you plug in.
Is this only for 12V routers?
Yes. Check the label on your current adaptor. It must say 12V. If it says 5V, 9V, 15V, or 24V, this unit is the wrong one — message us on Facebook with a photo of the label and we will point you to the right product.
Does it include a power supply?
No. It uses your existing 12V charger. In the box you get the Mini DC UPS, a splitter cable, and a user manual. The 12V PSU is not included.
Can I power two devices at once?
Yes. A splitter cable is included so you can run two 12V devices from one unit, for example a router and a camera. Keep the combined draw within the 12V output limit (max 2.5A).
Is it plug and play?
Once connected, yes. Charge the unit with your 12V supply, plug your device into the output, and leave it. When Eskom cuts, it supplies backup power. The work light comes on while it is giving backup.
Will it warn me before it dies?
No. The unit switches off without warning when the battery is empty. Charge it fully whenever power is back so you are ready for the next slot.
